The Combat Academy & Hereford Contact Karate Club
Groundfighting Tournament May 10 2008
The Combat Academy and Hereford Contact Karate Club recently hosted the first of their bi-annual Ground-fighting championships. In addition to fighters from the host clubs, the event, which continues to grow in popularity, attracted fighters from Gracie Barra Swansea, TJK Cheltenham, Pedro Bessa Wales, TJK Gloucester, Kidderminster Judo Club, Maesteg Judo Club, SUKB, Eversham, Charlton Kings TJK, Impact Martial Arts, Renegade MMA, Andy Roberts BJJ.
There were a total of 125 fights and all competitors had at least 2 fights. 3/4 of the competitors had at least 3 fights, with one competitor who entered the u93 and open category having 9 fights. Two other competitors had 8 fights.
