Hereford Contact Karate Club members celebrated tripple success at the ECKA Bristol Open Karate Championships. The competition attracted competitors from different styles of Karate, Kung Fu, Taekwondo and Kickboxing.
Herefords first medal came from Daniel Hayes who gained a well earned third place in the cadet free form section after beating of a huge number of entrants.
Dave Coles, coach to The Combat Academy and student of the HCKC fought his way convincingly to the semi final of the Mens Red Blue belt +78Kgs. Coles went out to the eventual winner, but composed himself in the fight off to gain himself the bronze.
Club Instructor Simon Small took the third medal of the day in the Mens Black belt +78Kgs section. Small defeated the current national champion 4-0 in the first round of the competition and continued to storm his way to the final. After a close fought final, time expired and Small had to settle for the silver.
