2003 Student of the Year
The awards are presented for commitment and attitude to training, and competition performance.
Junior & Overall Student of the Year:
Kate Bishop
Kate is presented with the student of the year shield

Kate started Ju-Jutsu in June 2002. Four months later she competed in her first Ju Jutsu tournament collecting the bronze medal in the novice category. She then went on to take Gold medals in her next Ju Jutsu and Karate events.
In March 2003 Kate achieved her Yellow belt and looks on course to complete her Orange belt in the very near future.
Highlight of the year came in the National Ju Jutsu Kumite Council British championships where she defeated purple and blue belts on her way to becoming National Champion in the under 35 kg category.
Kate regularly trains and competes in Ju Jutsu, Groundfighting and Karate, she has shown excellent skill acquisition over the past year and is a worthy recipient of the overall student of the year award.
Senior Student of the Year: Bram Roberts

Bram has been with the Academy from day one, he has competed in Ju Jutsu Kumite including NJJKC area events, Karate taking a hard earned Bronze medal in the Bristol Open and Groundfighting tournaments.
In October 2003 Bram achieved his Orange Belt making him the highest senior grade in the Academy.
Bram is one of the Academies most regular trainers (although usually 5 minuets late!!) he always works hard and is a worthy recipient of the senior student of the year award.
