An awesome performance from the team, and a reflection of the hard work and dedication our students put in, and the support our fighters receive from their families.
It is a reflection of our team spirit that several fighters and parents, stayed on long after their fights had finished in order to support their teammates.

Josh Mcmillan with some really good fights to take Silver in Continuous and Bronze in semi contact.
Ryan Hill good performances to win Bronze in semi contact and Bronze in freeform.

Welsh Open NoGi Championships
Members of The Combat Academy / Tillery Combat competed at The Welsh Open NoGi this weekend and we returned with 7 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.
Stepping up a weight to the purple belt -67.5 kg category,
Kris Edwards collected the silver medal.
Stepping up a belt category to the purple belt -79.5 kg category, Ty Husbands put in a sterling performance losing his first fight by 2 – 1 on advantages after the points were level at 5 – 5. His second fight also ended level on points 4 – 4 but again Ty lost out by advantages and so had to settle for a hard earned bronze.
In the purple belt +97.5 kg category Jack Marshman put on a wrestling master class to defeat his two opponents and take the gold medal.
Marcin Grzeszczuk stepped up a belt level to compete in the purple belt absolute. After losing an epic battle with Cagewarriors veteran, Lew Long, Marcin fought through the repechage to take the bronze medal.
Sixteen year old white belt Ben Oliver, and 15 year old Ryan Hill stepped up to fight in the men’s blue belt -61.5 kg category. Ryan found himself several points down in his first fight, but then started a comeback, taking his opponents back and sinking in a tight RNC. Unfortunately time ran out before he managed to get his opponent to tap and so Ryan was left to fight for the bronze.
In his first fight, Ben Oliver hit his opponent with a massive double leg and dominated the rest of the fight to progress to the final.
In his bronze medal fight Ryan put in an awesome performance to take the win and the bronze medal.
In the final, Bet hit another good double but unfortunately got caught in a tight guillotine. Medals in an adult blue belt category is an awesome result for the two youngsters.
Competing in the blue belt -67.5 kg category,
Joe Orrey ended the year on a high taking the gold medal to add to the PainPit title he won earlier in the month.
In the stacked blue belt -73.5 kg category, Jack Shore Gold and Leon Rosser Bronze were on top form.
In the blue senior -73.5 kg Martin Evans took the gold medal.
Marcin Grzeszczuk was in top form in the blue belt -85.5 kg category, submitting all before him to take the gold medal.
Stepping up a weight and a belt category, Ash Amos defeated both of his opponents to take the gold medal in the blue belt +97.5 kg category.
Not satisfied with the gold and bronze medals he had already won, Marcin Grzeszczuk put his name down for the blue belt absolute. Marcin defeated three opponents to take his second gold medal of the day.
Competing in his first ever competition, Dan Hart took a silver medal in the white belt -91.5 kg category.
Competing in the Juvenile -60 kg category, Ben Oliver Gold, Shea Evans Silver and Ryan Hill Bronze made it a clean sweep for the Academy.
